Peter L. Briger, Jr, is the CEO of the Fortress Investment Group, LLC. Fortress is a highly diversified global investment management group, specializing in a wide range of investment strategies for traditional asset management, liquid markets, credit and private equity. Their client base includes more than 1,500 private clients and institutional investors around the world.

Peter Briger CEO and the Board of Directors are committed to the continually maintaining strong corporate governance practices and policies. Fortress has in place the necessary procedures and policies set in a rigid framework in a never ending effort to continue the highest level of business practices, which include accountability and integrity. Mr. Briger also served in the United States Treasury and has served as an advisor to the International Finance Corporation regarding distressed debt issues and worked with the CompuCredit Corporation Board of Directors on financial issues.

Mr. Briger received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Princeton University and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Peter began his career in financial management at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and became a partner in 1996. He held several positions at Goldman including co-head of the Fixed Income Principal Group and co-head of the Whole Loan Sales and Trading business.

His time at Goldman prepared him well for his position at Fortress, first as a member of the Board of Directors and then as Principal and Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he has held since 2009. He joined Fortress in 2002 and was a member of the Management Committee. Mr. Briger is responsible for running the Drawbridge Special Opportunities Funds, a credit and real estate fund opportunity.

Mr. Briger uses his knowledge of the energy industry and is the founder and CEO of Hydromine, Inc. Hydromine is a project development company that utilizes natural resources, power generation and sustainable energy technology to develop better ways to use and manage energy worldwide. Hydromine has developed energy projects in five continents. Mr. Briger’s company has initiated bauxite mining and aluminum refineries in Cameroon and aluminum smelting in Libya.

In addition to his duties at Fortress, Mr. Briger serves on the Board of Directors of Tipping Point, a nonprofit organization that serves low income families in the San Francisco Bay Area, Princeton University Investment Company, Hospital for Special Surgery, the Global Fund for Children and the Central Park Conservancy. His desire to give back to his community is a result of the good fortune that came his way. Through his dedication and hard work, he was able to take advantage of opportunities that helped him along the way.

Mr. Briger believes if he leaves stepping stones in place to help others, his community and the world at large will be a much better place. Families, neighborhoods and communities will be strengthened by a helping hand, and that is a win for everyone.

Mr. Briger's charitable giving, both financial contributions and involvement, offer training programs, educational venues, health initiatives and support for those less fortunate and sustains some of his stepping stones that empower generations of men, women and children to improve their life standing.
