Worldwide-Express
David R. Kiger, who built Worldwide Express from a small, startup company to a global logistics provider for small and mid-size companies throughout the world, was inducted into Worldwide Who’s Who . The organization provides an exclusive networking environment, and induction into the group is limited to those who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in their chosen industry or occupation.

Worldwide Express

David Kiger, CEO of Worldwide Express, founded the company in 1995 in order to give smaller companies cost-saving shipping options offered only to larger companies at the time. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and has more than 150 franchises across the country. Worldwide Express focuses on shipping services, both domestic and international, for small to mid-sized companies. From its humble beginnings in 1995, Worldwide Express now has sales exceeding $550 million.

Recognized for Dedication and Leadership

Kiger tributes his success to his diligent focus on a core business model, a positive, professional attitude, and hard work. With only $5,000 and a business plan, Kiger began Worldwide Express in a spare bedroom, targeting a void he discovered in the shipping market. During his tenure at Trammell Crow Company in Houston, while seeking ways to save the company money, Kiger found that express shipping costs were excessive. When he attempted to negotiate with the carrier, he was informed that his volume was not high enough to warrante discounts. Kiger realized that small to mid-sized businesses were more than likely facing a similar situation. Worldwide Express fulfilled the void that existed in the shipping industry at the time.

Business Setbacks

Not only has Kiger built Worldwide Express into a global entity, but was instrumental in recapitalizing the company with Allied Capital in 2007. Worldwide Express faced a major setback when their largest business partner left the United States shipping business. Kiger negotiated a deal to partner with UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company, and, today, Worldwide Express is one of the largest authorized resellers of express shipping for that company. In addition to UPS, Worldwide Express is a trusted freight partner with more than 55 carriers throughout the country.

When Kiger is not working to build Worldwide Express into an even larger global entity, he enjoys running and collecting cars.

David Kiger CEO demonstrates dedication, loyalty and a positive attitude throughout his professional life. Through a diligent focus on a core business model that met a need in the marketplace, Kiger grew a small company from the spare bedroom of his home into the global conglomerate it is today, adding partnerships and collaboration with other logistics suppliers to provide small to mid-sized companies the same benefits as large volume shippers.
